The Kansas City Chiefs have secured a spot in their seventh consecutive AFC Championship game after defeating the Houston Texans 23-14.

Tight end Travis Kelce played a pivotal role, setting an NFL record with his ninth career postseason game of over 100 receiving yards. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes praised Kelce’s performance, noting his impact in crucial moments.

Despite being rusty after sitting out the final regular season game, the Chiefs shook off their early struggles. Kelce’s 49-yard catch-and-run set up a touchdown, while his 13-yard touchdown reception late in the fourth quarter sealed the victory.

The Texans controlled the game early with their rushing attack but were hindered by mistakes, including missed kicks and penalties. Quarterback C.J. Stroud was sacked eight times, contributing to their loss.

The Chiefs will now host the winner of Sunday’s matchup between the Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills for the AFC Championship.
