Update: High surf warning replaced with advisory for north and west shores

Update at 5:11 p.m. Jan. 18: The National Weather Service in Honolulu canceled the high surf warning for north and west shores of Kaua‘i and Ni‘ihau and replaced it with a high surf advisory that is in effect until 6 p.m. Jan. 19.

Surf of 15 to 20 feet is continued to be forecast along northern shorelines, with 10- to 14-foot breakers along western coastlines.
