Marion husband accused of choking wife, firing gun in bedroom

A 34-year-old Marion County man was arrested on battery and assault charges after he allegedly choked his wife and fired a gun inside their bedroom during an argument over infidelity.

A Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a residence in Fort McCoy on Wednesday, January 15, in reference to a domestic altercation. Upon arrival at the incident location, the deputy made contact with the female victim who advised that the incident involved her and her husband, Cash Robert Hughes, according to the arrest report.

The victim stated that she was asleep when Hughes returned home at around 10:45 p.m. on Wednesday. She stated that Hughes began “yelling at her for cheating on him,” and he pushed over a computer desk…
