East Texas under hard freeze warning, snowfall confidence increases

The National Weather Service has issued a hard freeze warning for most of East Texas, a winter storm watch for deep East Texas and says confidence that snow will fall is increasing as an Arctic air mass descends upon the region.

A hard freeze warning was in effect for several Texas counties from midnight Sunday to 9 a.m. Monday. Smith and Cherokee counties were among those in the warning, in addition to Red River, Bowie, Franklin, Titus, Camp, Morris, Cass, Wood, Upshur, Marion, Harrison and more.
