Hennepin County Deputies Join Record-breaking Security Force for U.S. Presidential Inauguration in Washington, D.C.

In a display of interagency cooperation, the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) informed the community through a Facebook post that they were part of a historic moment—the largest-ever swearing-in of law enforcement officers for a U.S. presidential inauguration. With their deputies standing among the ranks, they joined forces with a whopping more than 3,800 officers sworn in by the U.S. Marshals to make up an unparalleled security detail.

The enormity of the occasion is underscored by the number of agencies involved, HCSO representing only one of the 172 agencies converging on Washington, D.C. The deputies were there to work alongside the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department, ensuring the safety and security of the presidential inauguration.
