Fort Worth Offers Olive Branch with Warrant Forgiveness Event for Class C Offenses

The Fort Worth Municipal Court is setting the stage for a moment of clemency for locals with outstanding citations. Last Saturday, a Warrant Forgiveness event will occur at the A.D. Marshall Public Safety and Courts Building, allowing individuals to address their cases sans the specter of arrest. From 9 a.m. to noon, this occasion is earmarked for those with Class C criminal cases, such as traffic offenses and ordinance breaches.

To clear a backlog of cases and provide relief to citizens, the court will grant an audience to the first 150 people who arrive, ready to engage with their legal obligations quickly. According to the City of Fort Worth news release, “anyone who has outstanding citations with the Fort Worth Municipal Court is invited to appear at a municipal court location or Court in the Community event, without fear of arrest for their cases.” Not just a ticket resolution fest, attendees might qualify for options like community service or a possible reduction in fines, reflecting one’s financial capacity.

“I encourage anyone who has an outstanding citation with the Fort Worth Municipal Court to contact us immediately so we can provide options to move those cases to a final resolution,” Court Director William Rumuly said in a statement reported by the city’s press release.
