66-Year-Old MTA Worker Assaulted at Harlem Subway Station, Suspect Sought by NYPD

A 66-year-old MTA worker became the victim of a sudden assault inside the Harlem subway station at W. 148th Street and Lenox Avenue. According to ABC7 New York, the attack happened shortly after 1 p.m. last Friday. The worker, who was on duty, was punched in the face by a man who then fled the scene on foot.

The authorities have yet to apprehend the suspect, and they are actively looking for the individual responsible for the attack. In a bid to address similar incidents, the city has outlined a plan to start to deploy two police officers on every subway car specifically during the overnight hours starting on Monday, as noted by New York Post.

The victim was immediately taken to NYC Health and Hospitals/Harlem for treatment and is expected to make a recovery.
