The Houston area got blanketed in about 3 inches of snow Tuesday, which would make it the city’s snowiest day since Feb. 12, 1960 when the city received 4.4 inches.
That means there were unprecedented sights around town with sports venues covered in snow unlike anything anyone had seen since those stadium were constructed.
Since Daikin Park opened in 2000 — you’re probably still calling it Minute Maid Park , and that’s OK — the Astros ballpark has been around for just three instances of one-inch snowfall. And it had never been covered like it was Tuesday…
