The Lindley Middle School student who suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound on campus last week has died from her injuries, the Cobb County Police Department confirmed Tuesday.
Officers responded to reports of a person shot in the school shortly before 3 p.m. on Jan. 15 and the school was placed on a code-red lockdown. Authorities determined there was no threat to the school and the female student was immediately transported to the hospital, where she remained in critical condition for days.
In an update to the school board last week, Superintendent Chris Ragsdale said the district’s “hearts and prayers and thoughts are with that family.”…
