Nearly extinct Michigan burger chain announces new restaurant locations

WAYLAND, MI — A favorite burger brand from years ago — with only one known location still operating — is planning a comeback.

Hot ‘n Now, the famed burger chain born in Kalamazoo in 1984 that expanded nationwide and then shrank back to a single Michigan location, will soon have more locations in Michigan, according to a developer.

Gun Lake Investments and Alpena business owner Jeff Konczak announced plans to revitalize the famed drive-thru restaurant. They will open two new locations this year near Gun Lake Casino in Wayland and in Alpena, with other locations to follow…
