Large fire with ‘explosion risk’ prompted home evacuations on frigid Michigan night

CALHOUN COUNTY, MI — Firefighters have spent hours working to put out a blaze at a commercial property, and the “explosion risk” prompted the evacuation of nearby residents.

At 9:16 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, a structure fire erupted, causing an “explosion risk” near Michigan Avenue and 10 Mile Road in Emmett Township, Calhoun County Central Dispatch said.
