KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A Kalamazoo man will spend the next 27 years behind bars for trafficking illegal drugs, according to the U.S. Department of Justice Western District of Michigan.
During an Oct. 11, 2023 search, investigators found Michael Warren Smith, Jr., 38, at a home on Elmwood Street with over 185 grams of fentanyl in his pants.
He also had 388.5 grams of 99% pure meth and other evidence of drug trafficking inside his bedroom, officials said.

A search of Smith’s other apartment on West Main Street resulted in the recovery of five pounds of 99% pure meth, over 500 grams of fentanyl, over 470 grams of cocaine, and five loaded guns, officials said…
