“When you get into extreme cold or hot situations, the power demand goes up. Power is not stored, it’s generated,” Steve Bowers, communication manager for the JEA, said.
The TVA is asking for voluntary reductions in power to reduce the risk of power outages.
“I like to tell folks, we’re either in the winter season or we’re preparing for the winter season. It’s not an activity that just happens through one period of the year.
