The grief-stricken husband of a woman killed off Murchison Road on Monday said his wife dedicated her life to helping others.
Jylin Matute-Ayala, 22, was found about 8 a.m. Monday fatally shot in the 700 block of Topeka Street.
Her husband, Cris Puente-Mendoza, said Friday that he was at work in Durham when he got the news from his mother-in-law around 3 p.m. Monday. Puente-Mendoza said he has no idea why his wife was in the area where she was slain because it is across the city from their home on Pamalee Drive.
