Lanes of I-69 through Ft. Bend Co to be closed for emergency repair after snowplow scraped up markers

HOUSTON — Heads up to those of you who take the Southwest Freeway through Fort Bend County. There’s an emergency closure that begins at 6 p.m. Wednesday and goes through 5 a.m. Thursday.

According to the Texas Department of Transportation, it won’t be a total closure, but three alternating lanes of both the northbound and southbound side of I-69 between University Boulevard and Riverbrook will be shut down.

After TxDOT posted the emergency closure to X on Wednesday, we called to find out the reason. According to TxDOT officials, when snowplows were clearing out paths, they accidentally scraped up part of the highway stripping and reflective markers…
