NASHVILLE, Tenn.–Tennessee Governor Bill Lee and other leaders in the General Assembly have provided more details on plans for the special session as they pertain to illegal immigration enforcement.
Gov. Lee announced a special session of the General Assembly earlier this month which will convene on January 27 with the primary focus being to pass Gov. Lee’s school voucher program. However, the special session will also address hurricane relief and immigration laws.
On Wednesday, Gov. Lee’s office issued an agenda for illegal immigration efforts, the Governor stating “Tennessee has a long track record of stepping up to secure our Nation’s borders and strengthening public safety. President Trump has made it clear that states will play a major role in partnering with his Administration to enforce immigration laws and keep communities safe, and Tennessee is heeding the call.”…
