Man hanging onto outside of car killed after being slammed into another vehicle

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A man is dead after police said he was hit by a car while hanging out of the window.

The crash happened in South Louisville just before 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 23. John Bradley, a spokesperson for the Louisville Metro Police Department, said a man was hanging on the outside of a car when the driver of that car intentionally swerved into a second vehicle. When officers along with the Louisville Fire Department responded to the call at the intersection of 4th Street and Winkler Avenue, they found the man dead.

The driver of the car the man was hanging onto fled from the scene and was found near the intersection of 7th Street and Algonquin. The driver of the vehicle has been detained…
