West Texas A&M announces partnership with Daniels Fund

CANYON — West Texas A&M University (WT) announced a groundbreaking partnership with the Daniels Fund on Thursday, marking the first collaboration the charitable organization has entered into outside its traditional four-state region — Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming. This strategic alliance aims to offer comprehensive tuition benefits to Daniels Fund scholarship recipients, significantly enhancing access to higher education for students in the region.

The Daniels Fund, established by Bill Daniels, a renowned entrepreneur and philanthropist, has committed over $260 million in scholarships to more than 5,000 students across Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming. The fund empowers recipients to attend any university in the United States, providing flexibility and financial support to pursue their academic and career goals without the burden of debt. Historically, the Daniels Fund has supported approximately 900 scholars, with more than 22 currently enrolled at WT.

Under the new agreement, Daniels Scholars attending WT will receive what amounts to a full-ride scholarship. This includes coverage for housing, tuition, books, and other associated costs, allowing students to focus entirely on their studies and professional development.
