HOA drainage committee addresses flooding and other concerns with Alachua County leaders

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – Meadowbrook Golf Club owners in Alachua County are going deeper in debt as the course remains untouched and a homeowners association drainage committee brought up this as well as drainage issues to Alachua County leaders.

Meadowbrook Homeowners Association, a.k.a Meadowbrook Public Nuisance/Drainage/Flooding Team, met with Alachua County leaders to discuss how the golf course regularly floods.

Their key takeaways include using dollars to address damage due to flooding is difficult to obtain after the fact. They added they want funding a study of drainage/flooding in the areas encompassing Ellis Park, Hills of Santa Fe, Meadowbrook, and Meadowbrook Golf Course (MGC). Lastly, drainage and stormwater management for the Meadowbrook at Gainesville Community and the MGC were designed to function together as a system but given the animosity between the entities, this has not been possible…
