Dukes rally past Coastal, stay unbeaten in Sun Belt

James Madison had started to get used to dominating in Sun Belt play, but Sunday afternoon at the Atlantic Union Bank Center against Coastal Carolina, the Dukes got to be comeback kids again. JMU trailed the majority of the game, including in the fourth quarter, before getting past the Chanticleers 76-69.

The Dukes (17-4, 9-0 SBC) remained alone on top of the conference standings after falling behind early and not grabbing their first lead until the third quarter. Coastal Carolina (13-6, 4-5 SBC) led by as much as seven in the second half, but the combination of Peyton McDaniel and Ksyusha Kozlova eventually was too much for the Chants.

McDaniel recorded her third straight double-double with a game-high 23 points and 10 rebounds. Kozlova finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds with both all-conference picks making key plays down the stretch…
