It’s going to be a windy day! West-southwest winds will be gusting around 40 mph at times. Those winds may be stronger down the Lake Michigan shoreline. The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory from Sheboygan County, south into the Milwaukee metro area. Regardless, the strong winds may cause issues for drivers, especially on bridges and overpasses. The wind could also break tree branches, causing isolated power outages. Today’s severe weather outlook is LOW.
The wind is also ushering in a milder Monday. Afternoon high temperatures will rise into the 30s across northern Wisconsin. Areas from Green Bay and south could sneak above 40 degrees. That said, that strong breeze will also create a wind chill factor. Our midday and afternoon “feel-like temperatures” will really be in the 20s and lower 30s.
The wind is increasing ahead of a moisture-starved cold front that’s arriving from Canada. As this boundary approaches, clouds will thicken and lower today. Flurries or light snow showers will be possible this afternoon and evening. Only minor accumulations are possible…
