State commission awards grants to Panhandle towns for park improvements

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission has awarded grants to three Panhandle communities to help enhance outdoor recreational opportunities.

The following Panhandle communities are among several recipients for the grants:

  • City of Perryton: $150,000 small community grant for renovations to Murphy Park. Project elements include sports fields.
  • City of Spearman: $150,000 small community grant for Eska Park. Project elements include inclusive playground equipment and surfacing, pavilion and signage.
  • City of Stinnett: $37,500 small community grant for a playground project at Stinnett Park. Project elements include replacing playground equipment, site amenities and signage.
