Noem Visits NYC for Immigration Crackdown

Additional Coverage:

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem participated in an immigration enforcement operation in New York City on Tuesday. She even posted a short video of an arrest on social media.

Sources say Secretary Noem observed both criminal and civil immigration enforcement actions.

One criminal case involved a member of a Venezuelan gang allegedly connected to the takeover of an apartment complex in Aurora, Colorado. An alleged gang member was arrested in the Bronx.

The New York DEA confirmed its involvement, stating it was collaborating with the Justice Department and the ATF to support Homeland Security’s efforts.

Noem’s presence in New York comes just days after her Senate confirmation.

The former South Dakota governor will work alongside “border czar” Tom Homan to implement the Trump administration’s immigration policies.

Following her confirmation, Noem released a statement emphasizing her commitment to empowering law enforcement to remove criminal aliens and gangs, bolstering intelligence and counterterrorism efforts, and providing swift disaster relief.
