First responders remind residents to slow down around emergency vehicles

First responders in the Interior are reminding residents to slow down and give emergency vehicles space after two unoccupied Alaska State Trooper vehicles were hit on Jan. 24. Trooper Capt. Eric Spitzer called it the worst travel day of the year so far. Spitzer said that troopers normally receive 300 calls for service in a 24-hour period. On Jan. 24, troopers received more than 400 calls for service in an eight-hour period, including 62 collisions…
