Monroe Street church kicks off year of events to mark 200 years

At the first church he ever served, the Rev. Joshua Wynn accidentally gave a homeless man a quilt similar to the one his Toledo church just made. “It was in a closet; it had the huge United Methodist symbol on it,” he said of the incident in Kentucky. “What better witness in the street than somebody wearing a United Methodist [quilt]? “I won’t do that to this one,” he added. “I promise.” Now at Monroe Street United Methodist Church, Pastor Wynn continues the work he started his ministry career doing: serving the needs of a central-city community…
