King Charles III has expressed his condolences following the devastating plane crash in Washington, D.C. The British monarch shared his shock and sadness over the tragic loss of life.

He offered his deepest sympathy to the families and loved ones of the victims. He also commended the swift actions of the emergency responders.

The crash occurred when a commercial airliner collided with a military helicopter over the Potomac River. All 67 people on board both aircraft perished, including 60 passengers and four crew members on the American Airlines flight.

Among the passengers were 14 young figure skaters returning from a training camp in Kansas. The figure skating community has been deeply affected by the tragedy.

Olympian Scott Hamilton expressed his devastation on a morning show, highlighting the immense loss to the sport. He emphasized the close-knit nature of the skating community and their support for one another in times of grief.

Fellow Olympian Nancy Kerrigan spoke at a press conference in Massachusetts, offering her condolences to the families of all the victims. She acknowledged the strength of the American people in the face of tragedy. Six of the young skaters who died were members of the Skating Club of Boston.

Tributes have also poured in for the American Airlines crew members. A travel influencer shared a heartfelt message remembering flight attendant Ian Epstein’s kindness and humor. Singer Katharine McPhee Foster also recalled a positive encounter with Epstein, describing him as a gem.
