In 2024, Ohio’s recreational cannabis sales soared to over $242 million according to the Ohio Department of Commerce Division of Cannabis Control. Recreational cannabis sales began in Ohio in August 2024, nine months after Ohioans voted to legalize recreational cannabis. At present, there are 124 dual-use cannabis dispensaries in Ohio, which are licensed to sell both medical and recreational cannabis.
