EUGENE, Ore. – A former Lane County Sheriff’s Office deputy’s fate will be decided later in February when a state agency is expected to discuss his years-long case. Randall Broome was fired from the LCSO in 2022 after six years in law enforcement following two separate incidents at the Lane County Jail. The incidents allegedly involved the use of force on female inmates with mental health issues. Broome was charged with harassment in November 2022 after an internal investigation and a criminal investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
