A jury in Bartow recessed for the night before they could determine a verdict in the trial of Collin Griffith, accused of stabbing his mother to death in Auburndale last year. The prosecution said in closing arguments on Tuesday in a Bartow courtroom that the killing was premeditated murder after he kidnapped his mother, Cathrine Griffith. The defense countered that Cathrine Griffith was violent and impulsive.
