Canyon ISD issues statement after crash involving school bus and semi Tuesday

A crash between a tractor-trailer and a school bus on Tuesday afternoon resulted in one student being hospitalized, the Canyon school district confirmed. “This afternoon, after school, a Canyon ISD bus was involved in an accident at US 60 and FM 2590,” Canyon ISD said in a statement issued after the accident. “According to law enforcement, a semi-truck ran a red light, colliding with the bus as it was turning north.” Canyon ISD said students involved in the accident were from Spring Canyon Elementary and Canyon Intermediate School. “While the majority were unharmed, one student was transported as a precaution with non-life-threatening injuries,” the district continued. “We are grateful for the swift response from first responders.” This article originally appeared on Amarillo Globe-News: Canyon ISD issues statement after crash involving school bus and semi Tuesday…
