The Joint Finance Committee is starting its first week of hearings today. A collective group of state Senate and House lawmakers, the committee is in charge of “writing the annual appropriations (operating budget) and grant-in-aid acts,” according to the Delaware General Assembly website . On Feb. 4, the 12 members of the JFC – six from the state Senate Finance Committee and six from the state House Appropriations Committee – are scheduled to hold their first meeting of the 153rd legislative session.
