Ice storm will impact Michigan. When you can expect the rain to fall

Southwest Michigan will be the first part of the state to experience freezing rain conditions Wednesday, but a winter storm moving eastward eventually will impact much of southern Michigan.

The National Weather Service Northern Indiana office, which covers southwest Michigan, said freezing rain will begin south of U.S. 30 — which runs southeast from south of Gary, Indiana, through Fort Wayne, Indiana, and then into Ohio — by 6 p.m. Wednesday.

In southwest Michigan, freezing rain should begin by 7 p.m. Wednesday, the NWS said, and continue until about 9 a.m. Thursday.

As the storm spreads northeast, freezing rain will be more widespread by 9 p.m. as it “continues to move northward through the night.”…
