First of all, don’t panic. No dire predictions have come from the US Geological Survey, yet. However, a rather large portion of Arkansas sits on what is known as the New Madrid Seismic Zone (NMSZ), which gives us a little shake about 200 times per year.
The US Geological Survey, the Earthquake monitoring people, says that most quakes are so mild they go completely unnoticed. However, if a big one hits in the NMSZ it could be “devastating for many Arkansans.” Their words, not mine.
