Man convicted in 2021 shooting of Modesto police officer

MODESTO, Calif. — A man was convicted Wednesday of charges related to a 2021 shooting of a Modesto police officer who lost his leg.

Jesse James Brooks was convicted of attempted murder of a police officer and multiple weapon-related charges, according to the Modesto Police Officers Association.
