Upstate daycares face payment delays after federal funding freeze ends

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV)— The federal funding freeze may have been lifted, but for many daycare providers who rely on government funding, their problems haven’t gone away.

Across New York State, daycare providers are still dealing with payment delays and technical issues like errors, leaving facilities uncertain about what to do next.

U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer demands immediate action from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Office of Head Start. The senator spoke during a press conference about the ongoing issues, highlighting that Head Start provides services and support for non-profit early childhood care for low-income families.
