Lithonia man sentenced after shooting wife

A man who shot his wife while their children were home was recently sentenced to prison, according to DeKalb County District Attorney Sherry Boston.

According to the announcement, Lithonia man Dmante Dontrell Anderson shot his wife—who survived the incident—after his wife filed for divorce. Anderson, 33, was found guilty on two counts of aggravated assault, family violence, two counts of cruelty to children, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and use of a firearm by a convicted felon during the commission of a felony for the June 14, 2019 shooting.

According to the investigation, responding officer said they found a woman sitting on the ground in front of her apartment building bleeding profusely, and the victim immediately told officers that her husband had shot her. Anderson claimed his wife shot herself…
