WPD encourages the community to secure firearms

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – The Wilmington Police Department (WPD) is encouraging the public to secure all personal firearms from being stolen.

“In recent days, our agency has recovered ten firearms off the streets… whenever officers take guns off the streets, sometimes criminals will look for additional opportunities to recoup their losses,” WPD said in a press release.

WPD says they are working to combat gun crimes but encourage the community to also do their part…
