Crayola brings back 8 retired colors: Here’s what they are

( WHTM ) – Crayola is going back to the drawing board with its latest collection: The brand, which marketed its first box of crayons in 1903, is bringing back a special assortment of retired colors for the first time in its 122-year history.

In a press release, Crayola said the decision was prompted by popular demand for the return of certain shades.

“Over the years, the company has received an outpouring of fan requests to bring back some of their retired favorites, especially since Dandelion left the crayon box in 2017,” the release reads. “The decision to unretire these eight colors for a limited time will delight and surprise consumers, increase the brand’s available color palette and give a nod to the company’s first iconic eight crayon box launched in 1903.

In addition to Dandelion, which was retired in 2017, the new collection features Blizzard Blue, Magic Mint, and Mulberry (all retired in 2003) and Orange Red, Violet Blue, Lemon Yellow, and Raw Umber (retired in 1990)…
