St. Louis re-hires firefighter convicted of using credit card taken at scene of fatal crash

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – The City of St. Louis has re-hired a firefighter who pleaded guilty to criminal charges after taking a wallet from the scene of a crash at which four people died.

Arnold Britt was given probation in September 2024 for one count of receiving stolen property and another count of fraudulent use of a credit card.

Britt was hired on December 15 by St. Louis’ Department of Public Safety, the same department that oversees fire and police, as a City Building Inspector. The inspectors report to the Building Division under the Director of Public Safety Charles Coyle, not the Fire Department…
