WEST GREENWICH, R.I. (WJAR) — A Cranston man is now facing charges of animal cruelty and abandonment after dropping a pet pig off at the West Greenwich Animal Shelter.
“She looked like a porcupine, her hair was 6-inches long, I actually body clipped her so we could treat her skin,” said Wendy Tavares, a West Greenwich Animal Control Officer. “They just decide to get an animal that they don’t know how to take care of and they bring it to a city where they don’t even allow pigs, she was housed in Warwick, and they don’t even allow pigs.”
