Toxic chemical flare-up forces downtown Lodi businesses to move temporarily

LODI, Calif. — Several businesses in downtown Lodi have to move after the city found a toxic chemical they thought they cleaned up years ago has flared back up.

Friday was moving day inside a building a block away from downtown Lodi’s brick road.

“It’s taken a long time to kind of figure out the plan and things like that,” said Emma Kotajarvi who worked in the building. “Everybody’s moving now. We’ll be gone after this weekend. Today’s our last day here.”…
