Teacher Kills Student in South Korea

Daejeon, South Korea – Tragedy struck a local elementary school Monday evening as a teacher is accused of fatally stabbing an eight-year-old student.

Authorities discovered the teacher, a woman in her 40s, and the young girl with stab wounds. The girl was rushed to the hospital but tragically succumbed to her injuries. She had been stabbed in the neck and face.

The teacher also sustained stab wounds to her neck and arm, believed to be self-inflicted. She underwent surgery and is expected to be questioned by police.

According to reports, the teacher had recently returned to the school after a leave of absence for depression.

The young student was at the school for after-school care and waiting to attend an art class when the incident occurred. Her parents reported her missing when she didn’t arrive at the class, leading to the grim discovery around 6:00 pm.

This incident follows a series of violent crimes that have shaken South Korea in recent years, including several stabbings in public places.
