Eugene, OR – A blast of Arctic air will grip Oregon tonight, bringing dangerously low temperatures between 15 and 25 degrees. The National Weather Service has issued a Cold Weather Advisory from 7 p.m. Monday until noon Tuesday, warning residents of frostbite and hypothermia risks.
According to the National Weather Service in Portland, wind chill values could make it feel as cold as 10°F, especially in the Columbia River Gorge. Unprotected skin could suffer frostbite in as little as 30 minutes. Residents are urged to dress in layers, cover exposed skin, and avoid prolonged outdoor exposure.
