ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — Seven Albany County snowplows have new names thanks to the Name a Snowplow contest . The final winners were announced on Monday after 280 submissions and 15 finalists.

Over 2,100 Albany County residents voted to determine the following seven winners:
- SNOWSQUATCH — Craig DeCrosta, Albany
- EmpirePlowza — Melissa Baker, Guilderland
- ExSALTsior! – Lynne Schaefer, Albany
- SNO WAY JOSE – Dahl Taylor, Glenmont
- Plowasaurus – Ryan Luibrand, Albany
- Sleet&Salty – Peter Schaeffing, Albany
- Frost Berne — Lisa Goodrich, Albany
Each name will be added to the county’s elite snowplow fleet. Winners will join two of the named trucks in the 74th annual Albany St. Patrick’s Day Parade in March.
The contest was created to encourage safe driving and to remind residents to watch for county plows during inclement winter weather.
