Wayne, 88, and Barbara, 89, Moore met in the third grade in McLean, but didn’t “claim” each other as sweethearts until the sixth grade. He “plussed” her then which meant he wrote his initials and her initials on a drawing of a plus sign. Mussy stuff for sixth graders.
“I always looked forward to Saturday afternoon matinees, sitting with her and holding her hand,” Wayne said. “That’s all we were doing in those days.”
