KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in a deadly 2024 shooting in Kalamazoo.
On Tuesday, the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety said Silent Observer is offering a $1,000 reward for information on the deadly shooting of Ladarius Jaheel Clay on Sept. 14, 2024 .
SUV shot at in Kalamazoo; 1 killed, 1 hurt
Just after 4 a.m., a white GMC SUV was turning onto Westnedge Avenue from Florence Street when it was hit by gunfire. The driver, 20-year-old Ladarius Jaheel Clay, was shot in the torso and later died at the hospital. A passenger was hit in the leg, but the injury was considered not life-threatening, KDPS said.
“Our thoughts remain with Ladarius Clay’s family and friends as they continue to grieve this tragic loss,” Cpt. Danielle Guilds, head of the KDPS Criminal Investigations Division, said in a news release. “We are committed to finding those responsible, but we need the community’s help. Many people were present at the time of this incident, and we urge anyone who saw what happened or has relevant information to come forward.”…
