Costco Carrot Cake Surprise

Additional Coverage:

Local TikTok user Harry Fletcher thought he’d snagged a sweet deal on Kirkland brand carrot cakes at Costco. His celebratory unboxing quickly turned to bewilderment, however, when he discovered large, round chunks of carrot inside. Carrot cake typically uses grated carrots, not sliced pieces.

Harry’s video, which has garnered millions of views, shows him pulling the unexpectedly large carrot pieces from the miniature cakes. He jokingly implored Costco to “sort it out.”

Commenters on the video shared Harry’s surprise. Some expressed disbelief, noting they’d never encountered such large carrot pieces in carrot cake. Others echoed his disappointment, saying the large chunks ruined the illusion of the treat.

Some viewers claimed this was a known issue with Costco’s carrot cakes, while others suggested Harry had simply gotten a bad batch.

This incident follows another viral video where a Walmart shopper discovered chicken nuggets devoid of actual chicken, containing only breading. These videos raise questions about quality control at large retailers.
