ALBANY — Abo’s Coney Island, a deli serving breakfast, hot and cold subs, halal food, a lunch buffet and dinner entrees, is now open at 144 Washington Ave., across the street from the Albany Institute of History & Art, in a building that has been many restaurants over the years including Jack’s Diner II, Blue Flower Thai and the original location of El Mariachi.
The bright interior features large shelves of snacks, candy and refrigerated beverages, an order counter, 20-item buffet and small dining room. An employee who answered the phone Tuesday afternoon said it has been under development for more than a year.
Hours are 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Saturday, closed Sunday. It does not appear to have an online presence of its own yet, but ordering for pickup and delivery is available through the DoorDash, Grubhub and Uber Eats platforms…
