Parade of winter storms: Winter is far from over

(WKBN) – A stormy weather pattern will stick around this week as a parade of storms sweep across the country. This pattern will stick around through the weekend.

Tracking the next winter storm system

Another wave will sweep toward the Great Lakes Wednesday. This system will bring a wintry mix to our part of eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania.

There are some Weather Alerts up locally as this storm approaches.

As one storm slips by to our south, another storm is developing in the southern plains tonight. This storm will impact our region Wednesday and Wednesday night.

Look for a light wintry mix to develop through midday and into the afternoon Wednesday. A light snow will transition to some sleet and pockets of freezing rain into the afternoon. You can track the rain and snow with Youngstown Weather Radar.

The ice accumulation is expected to be light with up to 0.10″ of an inch possible in spots. A light glaze is possible. It will be enough to cause some slippery spots on untreated surfaces.

We will warm into the 30s into Wednesday evening and night with the mix changing to cold rain showers…
