$16M worth of marijuana seized in Arkansas, ARDOT says

CRAWFORD COUNTY, Ark. – Arkansas Highway Police seized nearly 5,000 pounds of marijuana, marking one of the five largest drug seizures in history, according to the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT).

ARDOT said the discovery was made during a safety inspection along I-40 in Crawford County, Arkansas. That’s on the western side of the state, about five hours from Memphis.

Inside of a commercial vehicle, highway police found seven pallets of illegal marijuana, totaling 4,900 pounds. ARDOT said the marijuana could have been sold for $16 million on the streets…
